First of all, a word on the group's name. According to their Wikipedia page, the name Via Gra has two meanings. First, obviously, it is a reference to the drug and hints at the sexually provocative nature of the group. Second, "VIA" stands for "vocal-instrumental ensemble" in Ukrainian and is sometimes used in front of a music group's name, and "Gra" means "game." But they go by the name Nu Virgos when they are outside of Russia, Ukraine and other CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries. When Sony signed the group in 2002, they advised the group to pick a different name for legal reasons and to avoid any unwanted interpretations in the mind of the public, and the group chose Nu Virgos (The New Virgins).
